Exploratory Essay
I have always been interested in sports ever since I was a kid. I always watched football games with my dad and have turned into a big football fan, even though I only played football for one season. The NFL particularly interests me and I have been born into a “Miami Dolphins family,” if you will. My dad has been a Dolphins fan his whole life too. And of course, being from North Carolina, the Carolina Panthers are also one of the favorite teams. I get involved in Fantasy Football every year where we choose players from teams in the league and create our own fantasy team. Then we compete against others in our fantasy league and you get points based off of how your players perform.
Cars are also something that have always interested me and I have one of the largest Hot Wheels collection of any other kid. I started playing with toy cars within the first few years of my life and it’s become a big interest for me. I read car magazines every now and then and watch TV shows and Youtube videos a lot on cars and trucks. Conversations can get awkward and dry up where you don’t know what to talk about, but when you talk about cars, the conversation never dulls. There is always something more to say and that’s why I love talking about them so much.
One of the things that not only interests me but confuses me the most is women. In no way am I trying to degrade them, but more or less point out flaws and share experiences that leave me with questions. Why are they so moody? How do you know when they’re going to be in a good mood? Why are they so hard to read? It’s so difficult sometimes! Girls are like big books: really hard to read!
Politics are another thing that confuse me. I don’t really agree with the whole “party” thing. Why can’t one have their own beliefs and morals and not be tagged as one or the other? That results in huge arguments between the two parties even though they may only disagree on one little thing, but since they are different parties they have to argue about it. I really don’t know what “party” I am even in. I agree and disagree on aspects of both parties. I feel like if we didn’t have such big differences between parties that our government would go a lot smoother, get more done, and agree on more things.
